PREFACE
“A Modular Approach to
Folkdance, Ethnic and Foreign Dances” is written out of the author’s passion
for dancing. These modules will provide the opportunities to explore the
elements of dance through creative moments, rhythmic activities and dance.
It covers the learning of
varied Philippine folkdance, ethnic and foreign dances with emphasis on dance
steps and interpretations of dance instructions. It also aims to appreciate,
preserve and disseminate the rich dance heritage of the Filipinos and other
foreign countries. In the application of this course, the subject attempts a
high level of fitness providing a well-rounded person as basic information are
required, enjoyed and experienced through the variety of activities.
Furthermore, it is designed
for MAPEH major students to study and learn dance and put into application the
theories, principles and skills in Folkdance, Ethnic, and Foreign Dances. It
also includes a clear understanding and analysis of various dance movements for
better comprehensive coverage in teaching Rhythm, Folkdance, Ethnic and Foreign
Dance.
