MODULE 12: Dances of Non-Christian Filipinos, the Muslim Group- Muslim Dance Post title




I.                   Objectives:
At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to:
a.       explain the history of the Muslim dance;
b.      enumerate the contributions of the Muslims in our culture; and
c.       appreciate the beauty and elegance of Muslim Dance. 

II.                Overview:
    
In this module, it talks about the history of the Muslim dance in which its contributions arose to the regional tribes of Mindanao. Mindanao is the third major island in the archipelago and its home to the largest cultural minority in the country. The Muslim is to host many of these captivating dances. Their dances are famous for royalty and mysticism. All of their dances are accompanied by Agong and Kulintang.

III.             Learning Content:

"History of Muslim Dance"

          Aside from the colorful contributions of its regional tribes, Mindanao is home to the largest cultural minority in the Philippines the Muslim brought by the Javanese and Middle Eastern trades.  Islam is the religion of approximately 20 percent of the Philippine population. They are known for their mysticism, royalty and beauty which are evident in their music and royalty and beauty which are evident in their music and dance accompanied by Agong and Kulintang Filipino Muslim dance is marked by intricate hand and arm movement along with shimmering costume. The Muslim is host of many of these captivating dances. Though valuing and appreciating their culture and dances it will give them a good humanity in their selves.
